One of the most rewarding parts of being an author has been the opportunity to talk with readers through radio interviews, podcasts, television appearances, and online features.
Writing is often a solitary experience. I spend countless hours alone with my characters, trying to understand what motivates them, what frightens them, and what gives them hope. Interviews offer something completely different—they’re a chance to step away from the manuscript and share the ideas that inspired the stories in the first place.
People often ask where my ideas come from, why memory and identity appear so frequently in my novels, or why I prefer psychological suspense over nonstop action. Those conversations have reminded me that readers aren’t only interested in what happens inside a book—they’re also curious about the journey that led to it.
Another lesson I’ve learned is that media exposure can make a meaningful difference for authors. Every interview introduces your books to readers who may never have discovered them otherwise. A reader might hear a podcast today, listen to a radio interview next week, and only months later decide to pick up one of your books. Success rarely comes from a single interview. It comes from consistently introducing your work to new audiences.

Why These Conversations Matter
Although every interviewer asks different questions, a few themes always seem to come up.
